The National Geological Survey of Kazakhstan took part in the 2nd International Congress and exhibition “Mining Congress of Kazakhstan”
The 2nd International Congress and exhibition “Mining Congress of Kazakhstan” was held in Astana on May 15-16. Chairman of the NGS Board Yerlan Galiyev made a welcoming speech at the plenary session on the main trends and problems of the development of the mining industry in Kazakhstan.
In his speech, he noted that the Mining Congress of Kazakhstan is not only a place for the exchange of experience and knowledge, but also a platform for the formation of strategies for the future development of the industry.
“The mining industry plays a huge role in the economy of our republic. Kazakhstan is among the top ten leaders in proven reserves of major minerals, being the world’s largest producer of uranium and possessing significant reserves of coal, copper, gold and other mineral resources,” Galiyev said.
The congress discussed the most important issues of key mining industries, such as technological innovation, sustainable development, occupational safety, rational use of resources, and others. The experts exchanged their experience and knowledge, presented their research and projects, and discussed the prospects for the development of the industry in the future.
The most modern equipment and technologies for mining and metallurgy were presented at the exhibition stands. The participating companies presented their products and services, discussed possible partnerships and cooperation. We hope that the results of the congress will be new projects and initiatives that contribute to the development of the mining industry in Kazakhstan.
